Warranties

Important Information About Your Warranty

We’d like to address, upfront, possible concern over our product violating any warranty that may be in effect so that you will have confidence in the safety of FuelSpec®.

ASTM Diesel Standards

Warranties remain intact as long as the fuel used does not violate the ASTM standards of the particular type recommended for use in the equipment.

The Ash found in many fuel additives is typically the element at risk for causing engine problems.  Most HFO used today contains 40 to 60 ppm of Ash and our catalyst adds approximately 17 ppm of Ash to the fuel.

The current ASTM D 975-09 standards for No. 1-D and No. 2-D are 100 ppm with 1000 ppm being the Ash limit for No. 4-D.  Clearly, you are able to use FuelSpec® with any Diesel fuel without exceeding the specified limits.

We have recently received a ‘Letter of No Objection’ from Diesel engine manufacturer Wärtsilä confirming that our product “when being dosed according to instructions, will have a minimal influence on total fuel ash content and thus not expected to be harmful for an engine.

Read the Fine Print

The most common fallacy about engine warranties is that they are voided by using any type of additive.  Although engine manufacturers do not endorse fuel additives they do confirm what specifically a warranty provides for – which is their workmanship only.

Warranties only cover issues originating from the OEM.
